Dr. Christina M. Ramirez, PhD is a Professor of Biostatistics at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Dr. Ramirez is renowned for her research and statistical modeling of infectious diseases including HIV, Nipah virus, and Ebola Virus Disease. She works closely with scientists and clinicians to develop solutions with practical implications that has led to multiple successful patents for clinical application that are Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) licensed and FDA approved.  She is also interested in machine learning methods especially in high dimensional situations where the number of parameters greatly exceeds the number of observations.
